If you are a desktop computer user that leaves their computer running all the time or turns it off when not in use, you can recover just under 40GB of disk space by disabling the Windows Hibernation power option.

To do so from the terminal enter the following:

powercfg.exe /hibernate off

You will see that the hiberfil.sys file is erased.
